Do I have to live in the state to compete?
Yes. You must compete in the state you currently reside in. If there is no state pageant in your state and you have residential ties to another state that does have a pageant, you can compete in that state
Can I represent my state at large?
In some cases. If you live in a state that holds a state pageant you may not compete at large, however if your state does not have a state pageant, you may compete at large representing a state you have residential ties in.
Why does the application form ask if I have been married or have kids?
We have multiple divisions, some allow for married women to compete, some even allow for women with children to compete. Our North America divisions are based on age, rather than marital status!
May I seek a sponsor?
You may seek sponsors or you may pay the entry fee yourself.
If I am unable to compete, will I be issued a refund or a credit?
No. Due to extremely high production costs, we are not able to return any payments. All fees paid are NOT REFUNDABLE and NOT TRANSFERABLE in full or in part for under any circumstances. This includes entry fees, advertising fees, pageant admission tickets and any other fees paid.
Am I required to sell ads for the program book?
No. Most state pageants do not have program books, so no ad pages are required!
If I hold an North America Beauty Pageant title, can I compete in other systems?
We only ask that the state and regional titleholders compete in the Final Event before they compete for other titles, and they come back and crown their successor if a pageant is held.
Do all delegates receive a crown and sash?
No. However, each delegate may opt to purchase a local title sash and crown, which are available on a first come first serve basis.
What is the Online Peoples Choice contest?
The Peoples Choice Contest is run through a website called catchthecrown.com. Photos of all of the delegates are uploaded and the public is encouraged to vote for their favorite. Votes cost $1 each and the proceeds from the voting go towards a cash prize for the Peoples Choice Winner as well as towards the competition fees for the state pageant winners which are over and above the Entry Fees which they each win as a part of their prize package.
What is ‘The Edge’ Program and QUEEN OF THE STATE titles?
The Edge Program is a NO OBLIGATION competition program, it is an add on to the state pageants and it is set up for ladies who want to compete but either already hold a title in another system which has a non-compete, or they are unable to attend the national/international pageant in July, or they are new to pageantry and want to try it out before they commit to a system with a national or international obligation, or they just want to compete with no commitment to appearances or moving on to other pageants.
Contestants who are registered in The Edge program will compete along side of the contestants who are registered for the state North America and U.S. International pageants, with no distinction between the delegates. Everyone receives the same competition items and will compete along side of each other on stage and in interview in all of the same divisions with the exact same scoring system. The judges are not informed who is in The Edge program so that the judging is done fairly and without bias. The ONLY people who will know who is in The Edge program are the Executive Director and the Contestant who is competing in The Edge program.
After the pageant, every contestant registered in The Edge program will receive a video of her interview, a copy of the judges notes as well as her total score and a review of what she can improve on based on scoring as well as from the Executive Director and if possible any staff members they interact with. This part of the pageant is set up to be a training event for new and advanced competitors to give them the best edge for moving forward in pageantry. There is no better way to improve than by hands on practice, and that is what this will give along with a full, honest unbiased review of what you can do to improve.
At crowning, each of the highest scoring delegates registered in The Edge program will receive a state title ‘Queen of the State‘ and crown, FOR FUN. This award will have NO OBLIGATION and NO CONTRACT and will not affect any current titles held or future pageants you are already signed up for, except to help make you a better and stronger competitor!
The cost to participate in The Edge Program is $195
